About Us

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of creating my own space – a place where myself and the talented stylists I choose to work alongside could truly pour our hearts into our craft and create something special for our clients. My vision was simple yet deeply important to me: to create a comfortable space that feels like home the moment you walk through the door. Always keeping in my mind the clear vision of what this space could become, over the next four months my dad and I rebuilt and renovated it by hand. We worked tirelessly in the narrow window between Sydney’s lockdowns. Through long days and nights, relentless hours of problem-solving, hurdle jumping and the typical blood, sweat and tears scenario these types of projects require, the space slowly started to take shape.

On February 19 I opened the doors and for the first 3 months worked in the salon by myself as I took the time to find stylists to join me who were the right fit. That’s when Rowan joined, bringing fresh energy and helping lay the early foundations of the salon’s character.

I enjoyed just four months of trade before a second lockdown forced us to shut shop for yet another four months. That was a trying time but gave me the opportunity to find the remainder of our killer team. As we emerged from that second lockdown, Louis, Mel, and Connie came on board marking the moment the salon really began to grow into itself. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of creatives. These four incredible humans bring their own unique spark to Ivy Reed each bringing distinctive talents and skill sets shaped by years of experience, paired with personalities that beautifully complement each other. Their individual strengths blend seamlessly, creating a rich, harmonious team that ensures the cohesive vibe of the salon. I hand-selected well-established, highly skilled, extremely passionate and experienced stylists whose energy and professionalism perfectly match the collaborative atmosphere I wanted to create.

Ivy Reed wasn’t built around one person; it’s an ever evolving collective. It belongs just as much to the stylists as it does to me. They share in my vision and this is our shared space — a sanctuary for both the team and our clients. This salon was built with love, with intention and a genuine desire to offer a personalised experience in an environment that feels comforting and familiar. It’s a space that offers an experience more than you’ll find in any other salon.

Our goal is for clients to walk in feeling genuinely welcomed and leave feeling truly taken care of. Not just their hair but in a way that nurtures the whole visit.

Each client is looked after by one dedicated stylist from start to finish. There’s no hand-off or rushed service — just consistent, thoughtful care tailored entirely to you.

It’s been over 5 years now and what started as a small dream has flourished into something far greater. So many wonderful humans have shared their talents and skills in making this space what it is today and for that I will be forever grateful. I did not do this on my own. Ivy Reed Salon is a constantly evolving art project defined by a shared energy that can’t be manufactured, only built together over time.
